BSU On The Verge Of Losing Accreditation For It's Faculty Of Law

Report has it that the Law Faculty of the Benue State University (BSU) will soon lose its accreditation as the National Universities Commission has concluded plans to wirhdraw it.

This was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Msugh Kembe.

According to him, this is due to the fact that the faculty became necessary by the Council of Legal Education and NUC because the university has not met the professional requirement which include a well furnished mute court, law building, law clinic and library as well as proper mix of professional staff.

He further revealed that the faculty would need N119m to meet the requirements.

BSU Addendum List Of Admitted Candidates 2015/2016 Released

The Management of the Benue State University, Makurdi has released the addendum list for admission into first degree programmes for the 2015/2016 academic session.

Candidates who applied for admission into Benue State University, Makurdi for the 2015/2016 academic session are required to:

1. Proceed to the designated banks within Benue State and pay a non-refundable admission verification fee of N400 and obtain a receipt with a pin. The designated banks are; Fidelity Bank Plc, ECO Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc, Unity Bank, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, First Bank of Nigeria Plc and Zenith Bank Plc, Diamond Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Sterling Bank Plc and Skye Bank Plc.

2. Candidates are to note that from Monday, 18th April, 2016 electronic payments can be made at any location using ATM’S and electronic banking facilities.

3. Visit the BSU website on https://www.bsuportal.edu.ng/checkAdmission.jsp enter your JAMB Registration or application number and submit to check your admission status. Print details if successful.

4. Proceed to the designated Banks listed in (1) above and pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of Twenty Two Thousand (N22,000) naira only using JAMB registration or application number. Obtain a Bank print out with a PIN.

5. Candidates who had earlier paid acceptance fee of Five thousand, Five hundred naira (N5,500) only should pay an additional sum of Sixteen Thousand, Five Hundred naira (N16,500) to make up the Twenty Two thousand naira (N22,000) only to enable them print admission letter.

6. Candidates who have paid their acceptance fee and have printed their admission letter should proceed to upload the following document on the BSU portal for on-line screening. The documents are as follows:
i. Original academic qualifications
ii. Original JAMB Result slip with embossed passport photograph
iii. Original Direct Entry Online e-registration printout with embossed passport photograph
iv. Birth certificate/declaration of age

(ii) On the resulting registration confirmation page, click on the button labelled Proceed to Pay in order to gain access to the account you just created. You may then proceed to generate the unique Transaction ID for your application form fee payment. Ensure that you print out the Fees Payment Slip which contains the steps on how to make a proper payment.
(iii) Pay a sum of Seven Thousand Naira (N7,000.00) only as application form fee using your ATM Card/Quick teller options at any bank of your choice.
(iv) Upon confirmation of payment, an applicant is to use his/her unique identity (Email Address & UTME No.) to complete and submit the e-application form via the Bowen University website.

(b) Payment for On-line forms through Banks

(i) Applicants may also pay through any branch of Skye Bank, Diamond Bank, First Bank, Sterling Bank or Guaranty Trust Bank after completion of steps (a)i and (a)ii above (if unable to access an ATM Card/Quick teller option to complete the electronic transaction):

UNIPORT Academic Activities Grounded Following Protest By Students

Report has it that academic activities at the University of Port-harcourt have been grounded following protest by students of the institution.

It was learnt that the protest was ignited by a new policy by the management that students who do not pay their school fees within the stipulated time will be forced to repeat a whole session.

Due to the protest, the 1st semester examination which was suppose to commence today, has been placed on hold.
