UNILAG Post UTME 2015: Over 32,000 Candidates Battle for 9,000 Slots

Over 32,000 candidates will write the UNILAG Post UTME 2015 for admission into the University of Lagos, according to the institution’s Deputy Registrar (Information), Mr Olagoke Oke.

The UNILAG Post UTME 2015 examination is scheduled to hold from Aug. 12 to Aug. 14.

The Deputy Registrar revealed that the figure was close to four times the 9,000 that was initially posted to the institution by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), which was actually the Institution’s carrying capacity.

NAN reports that JAMB in collaboration with some public universities had agreed to raise the bar of the cut-off marks of their institutions from 200 to 250 for the various courses. The development had generated an outrage among candidates, their parents and other stakeholders, who called on Federal Government to intervene. The decision was later reversed after consultations between the Prof. Dibu Ojerinde-led JAMB and the Federal Government.

Oke said:“I want to say that all logistics toward a smooth conduct of this examination are fully in place. “We have always been ready for situations like this and have always got it right. . “Before now, we were hoping to put logistics in place for the initial 9,000 candidates, but with the reversal of the decision, we now have to re- adjust and I want to say that we are fully prepared. “All our computers and its accessories, the backups, alternative power supply as well as adequate personnel that will conduct the examination are all ready.’’

The deputy registrar said the university was compelled to extend the exercise to three days because of the large number of candidates seeking admission into the institution. He, however, advised candidates to arrive early at the examination centres for a hitch-free exercise. (NAN)

UNILORIN Post UTME 2015: Likely Questions

The aim of Success Point at any point in time is to ease the difficulties passed by Nigerian students. Here we have looked into some likely questions that the University of Ilorin might pick out and how to tackle it.

If you are in possession of a book which contains past Post Ume questions, then you must have come across some sort of Maths questions which seem too strange and time-consuming. Do not feel disgruntled. There are easy ways to walk your way through these. Let me give
you an example:

If today is Tuesday, what day would it be in the next 50 days?. …… Here is the solution:
First, you need to know that if you keep adding 7 days to that Tuesday, you will keep getting Tuesday. For example, today is Thursday, 7 days from now would be Thursday, 14 days from now would still be Thursday, and so on. No matter what, adding 7 days would keep giving you Thursday. OKAY? Same goes with Tuesday and any other day.

So, if you are given this sort of question above: “If today is Tuesday, What day would it be in the next 50 days?”.
Just divide 50 by 7 and add the remainder to Tuesday. It would be like this: 50/7 = 7 Remainder 1.

The remainder 1 means you should count one day from Tuesday. Hence, the answer would be a WEDNESDAY.
You see? Not that hard. There are easy ways to calculate all these sort of questions without wasting your time.
