JAMB 2017 Candidates To Choose Only One Public University During Registration

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that candidates for the 2017 UTME will not be able to choose two public universities during the registration.

This was disclosed through the board's twitter handle. It reads: “candidates can select NCE as their choice up to three times I.e 1st choice, 2nd choice and 3rd choice.
“But they are not allowed to select two public universities as choices. If candidates select a public university as their degree awarding choices, they are allowed to select a private university as another choice.”

According to the Mr. Benjamin Head of Information JAMB, the Board took the restrictions because candidates hardly get admissions into their second and third choice universities.
“Yes we restricted the choice to one but candidates can choose as many colleges or polytechnics,” he said.

“We discovered it was of no use choosing a university as second choice when in actual sense they can’t even accommodate their first choices,” the JAMB official said.

What do you think of this development and the reason given by JAMB for this?

JAMB May Conduct A Mock Examination Before 2017 UTME

Report reaching us has it that the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has disclosed that the body has been working with the possibility of conducting a “mock examination” to test its preparedness with the new technology and also examine some people that are desirous of knowing their competence with the JAMB examination.

He made this known during interaction with newsmen after a meeting with JAMB officials and other stakeholders regarding the new Information Technology being introduced into the system to make it less stressful to candidates.

He added that so far the the board has been working on increasing the capacity of the CBT centres to maximize their effectiveness to examine more candidates within a given date.

He mentioned that an estimated 1.7 million candidates are expected to register and sit for the Computer Based Test (CBT) across the country which is expected to commence soon.

He however stated that he cannot promise hitch free examination because the board is still testing certain things and in the process of changing the status quo.

Open Letter to JAMB 2017 Candidates - Use This Time To Prepare Adequately

I know many of you had almost forgotten about the upcoming 2017 UTME examination, well, this post is to remind you that JAMB registration is still being expected any moment from now.

It is said that most disappointments are blessings in disguise, the delay in commencement of JAMB registration has provided enough time for candidates to prepare. As a matter of fact, I believe that 2017 JAMB candidates have good chances of excelling in the exam considering the ample time they have to study unlike in previous years.

In my opinion, try to use this time wisely, because to whom much is given, much is expected lol...I mean JAMB has given you much time to prepare, do you think you really have any one to blame if you fall below expectation?

There may not be enough time to study once the registration commences. This is the time to read as much as you can, get all the necessary information that you need, Jamb Syllabus should not be far-fetched from you at this point.

Most candidates fail examinations as a result of nonchalance in studying. Some feel they are intelligent and therefore do not see studying as necessary due to over confidence.

Identify the areas/subjects you have problems and dedicate more time on them, believe me by the time you keep reviewing them, they will no longer be a problem.

Going through JAMB past questions is a very helpful measure to take towards preparing for JAMB examination. CBT practice software has made it easy for candidates to prepare, so it is important you access these resources.

Do not depend on "micro chips" or all forms of malpractices, beware of blogs that claim to have answers to 2017 JAMB questions. Do not patronize them. You might be scammed and disappointed on that day.

Always test yourself and see how accurately you can answer questions. The time to prepare is now!!!

Things You Must Know Before You Register For 2017 JAMB - See The List Here

With 2017 JAMB Form Sales approaching, I decided to drop this guidelines earlier so that those writing JAMB wont make any iota of mistake.

1. WHY ARE YOU SO AFRAID OF JAMB? Please before you register for 2017 jamb, cast away any iota of fear of failure in you. Thought of failure is the beginning of failure.

That you didn't score high last year doesn't mean you wont make it this year. Believe in yourself & be optimistic that this gotta be your last jamb. With God and determination, all things are possible... FORGET THE PAST AND FOCUS ON YOUR BRIGHT FUTURE.

2. CAREER CHOICE: Please I beg you with peculiar intensity of manner, never allow anyone to choose your course of study, be it your parents or close friends... You know yourself and your ability. Ask yourself, do I love this course I wanna put? Do I have the ability and all it takes to study it? Do I have passion for it? Make sure you answer those questions yourself. And also consult your God.

Studying a course you don't have passion for "may" lead to frustrations ... THINK ABOUT IT.

3. RIGHT SUBJECT COMBINATIONS: Make sure you choose the right subject combinations. Someone got 280 in JAMB last year, reach her department cut off mark but not admitted due to this error...

Consult your JAMB brochures or ask anybody studying that your dream course to guide you...If your not informed, you "may" be deformed.

4. DOUBLE JAMB REGISTRATION: For the sake of your future, forget about double registration.

Those caught last year got there JAMB results cancelled and were banned from taking JAMB for 3 years... DO YOU WANNA RISK YOUR FUTURE? THE CHOICE IS YOURS ANYWAY.

5. Exam Malpractice: In as much as we all have the freedom of choice, but I will never advice any of my loved ones to start thinking of malpractice now.

Expo can fail anytime but Brains never fail... IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, WHO WILL?

Good luck to you all that gotta participate in 2017 UTME exam.

JAMB To Start 2017 Sales Of Form Soon - Agrees On Exam Timetable With other National Examination Bodiees

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) yesterday disclosed that it has agreed on a harmonised time-table with other examination bodies (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB) ahead of 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to ensure a hitch free examination.

According to the JAMB's Spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement in Abuja, the harmonised examination timetable had put to rest problems arising from overlapping of examination dates which would have disqualified a goof number of candidates from participating in the examination.

It was resolved at the meeting that WAEC from 2018, between March and April, will create a window of two weeks where all other examinations that have nothing to do with Nigeria will be held so as to allow a window for JAMB to conduct its examination.

The statement also revealed that the examination bodies agreed that for the purpose of the 2017 UTME, JAMB would shift its examinations to allow students face WAEC, NECO and NABTEB.

“However, a 10-day window for JAMB’S UTME has been created by all examination bodies for JAMB to conduct its examination.

In view of this, JAMB will soon announce the commencement of sale of the 2017/2018 admission forms for UTME and Direct Entry (DE)." the statement added
