Nigeria Police Academy 5th Regular Course Admission Announced

This is to inform the general public that the sale of online application forms for admission into the 5th Regular Course of degree programme of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, has commenced. Admission into the Academy is open to both male and female Nigerians of good character.

NOTE: SSCE STATEMENT OF RESULTS OR CERTIFICATES RELATING TO EXAMINATIONS TAKEN BEFORE 2013 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

2. Interested Applicants are advised to go to the Nigeria Police Academy’s Website: www.polac.edu.ng in order to obtain or generate Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code. The RRR code obtained can be used to make payment of N3,000.00 through any commercial Bank Branch in Nigeria. Applicants must, in addition, apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board as well as sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Candidates need not select the Police Academy as a university of choice in the JAMB form. However, only candidates who obtained the minimum UTME scores which is to be determined by JAMB and purchased the Academy online application form; will be eligible to sit for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Examination.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

3. Applications are to be submitted online. On submission of the applications, candidates are required to download Acknowledgement Form. Candidates who obtained the minimum national cut-off marks or above, will be enabled to download and print their examination cards.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

5. The following are the admission requirements:

a.Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must be Nigerian citizens and must be between 17 and 22 years of age, and must have a height of not less than 1.67 Metres (5 Feet 6 Inches) if male, and 1.62 Metres (5 Feet 4 Inches) if female. In addition, male candidates must have an expanded chest size of not less than 86 cm (34 Inches). All candidates must be free from any physical deformity or mental disability.

b.Candidates must have obtained a minimum of SIX (6) credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO) or the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) at not more than 2 sittings and including a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics as well as subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen course of study in the Academy.

c. Candidates must also obtain satisfactory scores in both the written examination and the interview and must pass physical and psychological tests of fitness.

d. SSCE STATEMENT OF RESULTS OR CERTIFICATES RELATING TO EXAMINATIONS TAKEN BEFORE 2013 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

SELECTION EXAMINATION DATE, CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

6. The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil Selection Examination, may be Computer Based Test (CBT) or Pencil and Paper. The examination shall comprise of a General Paper (Section A) which is compulsory for all candidates. It will cover areas such as general knowledge and current affairs, English Language and Mathematics. Other sections are to be selected according candidate’s Faculty of choice. It will be conducted on Saturday the 8th July, 2017. Only candidates who obtained the minimum national cut-off marks or above will be eligible to sit for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Examination at 12 designated Centres. The list of Centres is in the Academy Website. Eligible candidates are to bring along to the examination venue their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Card, JAMB Result Slip and two Postcard size photographs (3.5 x 5 Inches) which should show only from the chest upwards. At the back of each of the two Postcard size photographs, the candidates must write their name, State of origin, examination centre and signature.

7. Only candidates who are successful in the Selection Examination will be invited for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Board Interview. The list of successful candidates will be published on our website and in some national newspapers.

>NATURE AND DURATION OF COURSE

8. Candidates admitted into the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil degree course will undergo a combined academic and Police training for a minimum period of Five (5) Years leading to Bachelor’s degrees and commission into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

ASUP Embarks On A Nationwide Warning Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), will today begin a nationwide one-week warning strike to protest what it described as the failure of government to implement the NEEDS assessment report of July 2014.

This was disclosed by Usman Dutse, the president of the union while addressing journalists in Abuja.

According to him, there would be no academic and administrative activity in any public polytechnic between 12 noon of 30 January, 2017 and 6 February, 2017.

He noted that already, the union has directed its members in all public polytechnics across the federation to ensure total compliance.

It was gathered in addition to the implementation of the NEEDS assessment report of July, 2014, the union is also protesting the victimization of union officials, non-release of union check off dues and interference in union activities, non-release of CONTISS 15 migration arrears, release of visitation panel report of Federal polytechnics and report of Ministerial panels to Federal polytechnics in Auchincloss, Oko’ Yaba and Ado-Ekiti, delay in the review of the Federal Polytechnic Act, non-commencement of renegotiation of the ASUP/government agreement of 2010 and government’s tardiness in the appointment of Rectors of Federal polytechnics.

OAU JUPEB Admission 2017/2018 Announced

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for 2017/2018 Session.

Eligibility

Eligible Candidates must possess minimum of 5 Credits at maximum of two sittings in at least 5 subjects (inclusive of English Language) relevant to the candidates desired course of study in the University. The Programme leads to the award of JUPEB Certificate which enables candidate gain Direct Entry admissions into Obafemi Awolowo University and other Universities in Nigeria.

  5. Fill the online Application Form and upload your recent passport photograph. The passport photograph must meet the following specifications:
    • The passport photograph must be coloured with white background (Black and white photograph is not acceptable).
    • The passport must be recent (not earlier than 3 Months before the time of the application) and the size should not be more than 100KB.
  6. After filling the form, logout and keep your username and password safe. (Save your Username and Password on your Phone so as not to forget). Keep checking the website from time to time for the actual date of the entrance examination.

ABSU To Reduce School Fees For Indigenes Of The State





Report has it that the Abia State Executive Council has approved 10,000 reduction of the Abia State University (ABSU) school fees for Abia indigenes in ABSU as well as the relocation of the Faculties of Law and Humanities to Umuahia and Faculty of Engineering to Aba.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Strategy, Comrade Bonnie Iwuoha.

According to him, the reduction in school fees was to
encourage poor and needy students from Abia state to go to school.

He equally added that each student has to prove the he/she is from Abia State by presenting the tax receipts of their parents or guardians.

LASU Sanctions Students Over Indecent Dressing

The Lagos State University authorities (LASU) has issued warning letters to 84 of its students over indecent dressing.

It was learnt that one of the students who was suppose to contest in the forth coming SUG election was also disqualified because of this.

Eight among the affected students are final year students,43 in 100 level,20 in 200 level,and three in 300 level.

Further analysis shows that 24 of the students are from faculty of Management Science, 18 from faculty of sciences, faculty of Education and Social Sciences were recorded as 11 students each and the faculty of communication has four students.

It was reported that the Students Affair Department (DSA) of LASU gave the letter to the students for going against the dress code of the institution.

JAMB Will Not Add To Or Remove From Lists Of Candidates Sent By Institutions – JAMB Boss

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Tuesday has disclosed that it will not remove, add to or alter in any way the list of admitted candidates forwarded to the Board by various institutions.

This was disclosed by the JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede during the ongoing technical meeting with stake holders at kano.

He further stated that he is committed to ensuring that the admissions for 2016 were concluded before or by the approved deadline of November 30, 2016, since to whom much is given much is expected. He added that the 2016 admissions, will be as smooth as ever.

EKSU Requirements For Printing Of Admission Screening Schedule For 2016/2017

This is to inform 2016/2017 candidates for the admission screening exercise that they need to login on the portal and make the necessary payment to download ADMISSION SCREENING SLIP in order to know their SCREENING DATE.

The DEADLINE for the Payment to download the ADMISSION SCREENING SLIP is Friday, 2nd September, 2016.

To know your Screening Date, you are required to do the following:
----> a.) Generate a new TRANSACTION REFERENCE report by supplying necessary information. This will show the amount to be paid.
----> b.) Print the TRANSACTION REFERENCE report and take it to your selected bank for payment.
----> c.) After payment, use the new TRANSACTION REFERENCE to log on to enable you download and print the ADMISSION SCREENING SLIP which will show your SCREENING DATE and other information for your screening.

Note:You are required to bring the following for the screening in the Campus on your Screening Date.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the One-year Preliminary Degree/IJMB programmes of the Federal University of Technology, Minna for the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 academic session. Fed Poly Ado Ekiti Admission Screening Registration 2016/2017 Announced

This is to inform aspirants of Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti that the institution has announced the 2016/2017 admission screening registration.

Eligible Candidates
All candidates who chose the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti as their institution of choice and obtained the minimum cut-off mark/score of 180 in the 2016/2017 UTME and also have the required relevant credits as contained in the JAMB brochure

Procedure For admission screening exercise
1. Candidates are expected to make a payment of two thousand naira (N2,000.00) only
2. Candidates are advised to visit the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti website i.e www.applications.fedpolyado.edu.ng and follow the steps below to make payment online, fill their details and print out the screening slip.
i. Click on “sign-up”
ii. Fill the form with valid email address and password containing 8 characters in alphabets (capital letters) and number
iii. Go to their e-mail inbox and click on the link that will be sent there
iv. Log in with your email address and password
v. Fill in the form and print Payment Invoice
vi. Take the printed Invoice to any of the designated Banks for payment
vii. Go back to the Portal to complete the registration as appropriate.
viii. Requirements For The Screening Exercise
ix. Applicants for the Screening Exercise will be required to do the following on the Polytechnic Portal:
1. Update JAMB data
2. Upload passport-sized photograph of not more than 22kb in size
3. Print Admission Screening Report

The exercise will not require physical presence of candidates on the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti Campus.

NB: The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti will not tolerate any form of falsification of results.

Any act of falsifications will automatically disqualify the candidates.

Application Deadline
Purchase and submission of forms on-line will close by 11.59pm on 30th September, 2016.

DELSU Diploma Admission 2016/2017 Announced

Applications are invited from suitable qualified candidates for admission into the following Regular Diploma programmes of the Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU).

Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

Diploma in Public Administration

A minimum of 4 O/level credits at not more than two sittings which shall include English Language, Mathematics, Government and one other subject. The credit passes should be obtained from examinations conducted by approved bodies like WAEC, NECO, NABTED.

Diploma in Criminology and Security Studies

A minimum of 4 credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), NECO or General Certificate of Education, Ordinary level (GCE O/L), TC II or their equivalent, including English Language, Mathematics and two social sciences subjects.

Diploma in Social Work

A minimum of 4 credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), NECO or General Certificate of Education, Ordinary level (GCE O/L), TC II or their equivalent, including English Language, Mathematics and two social sciences subjects.

Diploma in Mass Communication

A minimum of 4 O/L credits at not more than two sittings. These should include credit in English Language, Mathematics and Literature in English.

Diploma in Accounting

Diploma in Business Administration

A minimum of 4 credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), NECO or General Certificate of Education, including English Language, Mathematics and Economics and any other social sciences subjects obtained in not more than two sittings.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Candidates are required to visit http//www.delsuonline.com to generate an applicant virtual pin of N15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand naira) only and make payment to any of the following banks: Ecobank, Unity Bank, Zenith Bank and UBA.

PROCEDURE TO GENERATE VIRTUAL PIN

ii. Click online registration

iii. Click start

iv. Click diploma programme

v. Click start

vi. Submit the form and generate pin

vii. Print out the pin generated

viii. Visit the specified bank for payment

Other Information

Candidates should with the pin for payment access and complete the Delta State University, Abraka 2016/2017. Diploma form on line at http//www.delsuonline.com with their recent coloured passport size photograph scanned to the JPEG format and not more than 20Kb in size.

Candidates are advised to use virtual pin immediately after payment as the pin will be invalid after six (6) hours of generation.

NUC's New Boss Resolves To Scrap Diploma Programmes In Universities

The new Executive Secretary of the National University Commission, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, has disclosed that the commission will soon stop Universities from running diploma programmes.

He made this known when he was paid a visit by the the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Dr Masaudu Kazaure in his office.

According to Prof. Rasheed, only polytechnics had the statutory right to run diploma programmes.

He equally stated that the federal government had earlier issued a circular as far back as 2000 prohibiting the use of Ordinary Diploma certificates either in the promotion or employment of staff in the civil service, adding that the commission would soon notify universities to stop the programmes.

He gave assurance that the commission will collaborate with NBTE towards developing a value print that will give polytechnics the capacity to run degree programmes.

He further dispelled rumours that the FG has converted Kaduna state Polytechnic and Yaba College of Technology to city universities and commended the recent move by the Council of Civil Service Establishments in making HND holders that have Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) to be at par with university graduates in the civil service

OOU Lecturers Embark On Indefinite Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has embarked on a sit-at-home strike action over the inability of the state government to fulfill the promises regarding a Memorandum of Understanding it signed with the union in December 2015 as well as non payment of their July salaries.

The decision to embark on a strike action was arrived at after the unions congress held at the institution’s permanent campus in Ago-Iwoye on Monday.

According to the union, the state government has abandoned its responsibility to the institution by not honouring the 70:30 ratios contribution by the state Government and OOU management in payment of salaries.

NOUN 16th Matriculation Ceremony Postponed
