Why Students Failed 2015 JAMB CBT

If you will be sitting for JAMB UTME 2016, Kindly read this.

It is not an unknown fact that some Nigerian students after their JAMB examination will end up scoring zero over 400 ( 0.00/400.00). Last two years when I wrote my first Jamb examination, I had this feeling that I am going to smash the exam with a high grade like at least 350 over 400 but finally I found myself scoring 179 over 400, poor me right I guess.

But I thank Baba God for even making me see my score. Some of my colleagues didn,t even see any thing called grade talk more of scoring 0 over 400, I will share some tips and reason why I failed my examination and also from survey why many students also failed ,
Here are the 10 Reasons why Nigerian students fail JAMB:

1: Fear
According to H.P. Lovecraft, Supernatural Horror in Literature , He said that “The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown” , Seriously speaking, I was afraid then , the fear of Jamb made me to think if I was going into Do or Die Affair.

I could also remember vividly that very day of the examination it took me about 10 minutes before I could even start shading some answer all because I was afraid to even start somewhere. Fear contributed to my failure .

So my fellow students, Be bold , courageous and never you think of failure in your jamb examination. Jamb is just like a normal examination but very tricky….

2: Jamb Syllabus
It might sound funny but I bet you, Jamb follow some syllabus topics in setting up their examination questions, Then I was busy going to extra moral class , thinking i will grab everything within 3 months. but i was disappointed when I got into the examination hall . So I advice all students that will be sitting for Jamb 2016 to at least get tips about all the topics jamb listed in their syllabus.

3: Power of Jamb Past-Question
My dear never neglect the power of past question papers. They reveal some tips and sample questions on what you will be facing in your examination. After the examination that day, some of my friends that finished about 4 years jamb past questions papers told me that about 20 questions each came out from jamb past questions. I was shocked but No second chance for an amendment. So start now to practice some jamb past question.

4: Miracle Centre
Believe it or Not, This is an OPEN Confession, the fear of failing made me to get some A,B,C,D,E from a lady sitting beside me that very day. She registered in Miracle Center(RUNS THINGS). I am very sure my score would have been more better that it was if I had focus without getting some data from that girl. After the examination , she showed me the Answer her boyfriend sent to her but to my greatest surprised the my English language paper TYPE was A but the one her boyfriend sent her was TYPE C. unfortunately to me I carried my USE of English Over… So. BE CAREFUL…..

5: Invigilators
Nowadays, invigilators can frustrate students to the extend of asking them to pay or there will be NO communication inside the examination hall. For instance i could remember that day, one invigilator asked us to pay #2,500 each to allow us share and communicate with each other BUT if you fail to pay automatically you will become NO 1 Suspect in the hall. They will try anything humanly possible to make you fail unless you know your Creator.

6: Coming Late
Yes, I will advice you all that will sitting for the 2016 Jamb to be in your Centre 1 hour before the examination start. Try as much as you can to be first student to be in your centre. Coming late to any examination will make you feel that you have lost it all. you will automatically dis-organize yourself .

7: Breakfast
Yes , we know that a hungry man is an Angry man. Do not use because you are going to write Jamb examination you will starve yourself . Before leaving in the morning please take something atleast one cup of coffee or tea with bread will be nice to hold you. Sometimes , your exam will even start later than planned.

8: Long Distance
The possibility of a student living in Enugu to meet up with an examination that will start around 9.00am in Ebonyi state is just 40/100 because anything can happen. Some student will tell you i will meet up but along the line , they will be hooked up on the way. The question is:
What if the Car breaks down on the way( Which we don,t pray for)

What if you don,t locate your centre before the exam starts?
The only possible solution for this is just to be in the state/local/town/village where your centre is located a day before the examination date.It will help you a lot because if you fail to meet it automatically it will collaborate the reason NO 6:

9: Jamb Paper type:
Many students choose to change their Jamb paper during the examination. Let say your Jamb use of English paper type is TYPE A. Some student will quickly get EXPO from their colleagues without checking the expo Type. Be careful.

10: Lack of Information:
Information is power. Learn how to follow educational website like ours and other for latest updates and advice about your career. We serves as a guide to all Nigeria students, We are here to help. Always feel free to contact us for any question regarding your academics, but sometimes we normally do not reply some students without a tangible question or Query.

Thank you so much for taking your time reading 10 Reason why Nigerian students fail Jamb examination.

Practice, it's really helpful...

7 Secrets of Scoring 280 And Above in JAMB

It baffles me a lot whenever I meet with Jambites who struggle to score barely 200 in JAMB. I begin to ask myself, “What is so difficult about JAMB that lots of students struggle with it?” From my findings, I discovered that lots of students are not knowledgeable about how to pass JAMB and pass it very well.

It is not as difficult as most students think. As a result of this, I decided to come up with this write-up which I titled “7 Secrets of getting 280 and above in JAMB.” The seven secrets are discussed below;

1. Set a Target
Personally, I believe that there is nothing impossible that one cannot achieve. In scoring 280 and above in UTME exam, the first step is for you to believe you can achieve and set a target on the score you want to have in the end of the day.

Overtime, I have observed that most students do not have a specific score they want to have in the JAMB. All they do is just to read without a specific target. However, I always encourage Jambites to set very high score as their target. Setting a target will help you to be focused on what you want to achieve in the exam.

2. Study smart
It is not all about studying hard; it is about studying smart. Kindly get the JAMB syllabus and past questions, studying closing to identify the core topics JAMB often repeat year in year out. If you can study those topics very well, I think the job is half way done. Also, understand your study pattern and not emulate friends. I used to have friends who loved drinking lots of water whenever they were studying. Hence, it is left for you to learn to study smart in preparing for the exam.

3. Practice
I remember practicing my JAMB past questions up to a point where I knew almost all the answers off hand. I had different forms of past questions for every of my subjects. What I am trying to point out is it is very important for you to practice very closely especially the JAMB past question because it will expose you to the patterns of questions set by JAMB. Also it has been proven over time that JAMB repeats questions from previous years. You can be fortunate to come across such questions during your exam.

4. Do not cheat
The prevalent thing among Jambites is relying on different forms of examination malpractices to score very high in the exam. But unfortunately for them, they end up having very low scores despite the exam malpractices.

If you want to indeed score 280 and above in JAMB and eventually gain the much-desired admission, stay away from exam malpractices before, during and after the exam. Funny enough, majority of courses taken by year-one students are topics selected from JAMB syllabus. So if you fail to study now, if you still encounter those topics even after you gained admission through the back door.

5. Rest
I know this point may seem unnecessary to you, but it is of great importance if you truly want to perform very well in your UTME exam. The problem most studious students do have is their inability to set out time to have some rest. The human brain is often stressed a lot by constant study.

Hence, it is advisably for you to always take intermittent rest. It looks so funny to me whenever I meet students who study all night a day to their JAMB exam. To me, such study places sheer pressure on them. A day to your JAMB exam is for you to take out time to rest and ruminate on what you have studied over time.

6. Gist with Friends
The popular saying that ‘no man is an Island’ is applicable in this situation. As a jambites do not isolate yourself. Make friends with fellow Jambites and exchange ideas with them because you can never know everything on your own. However, do not make friends with the dullards who would draw you back all in the name of making friends; make friends with those you will learn a great deal from.

I remember when I was preparing for JAMB in 2011, I encountered a group of guys at the public library where I used to study. These guys were very intelligent and I learnt a lot from them. Aside learning from friends, making good friends helps you to be abreast with any latest rumour or news about the exam. I know a lot of people who could have performed very well in JAMB if they had been exposed to timely information.

7. God factor
The God-factor can never be ruled out. In everything you do, put God first. The bare truth is you need God’s direction when preparing to score 280 and above in JAMB. As a matter of fact, such feat is attainable even without any ‘special centre’ during the exam. Personally, I do not support or encourage students to enrol for ‘special centre’ for exams; I always believe in merit.

Summary of “The Last Days at Forcados High School” for 2016/2017 UTME Candidates

“The Last Days at Forcados High School” by A.H. Mohammed tells the story of Jimi Solade, the most popular boy at the elite Forcados High School.

As he begins his final year in senior secondary together with his friends, the sweet-hearted and devout Nene and Ansa, the nerdy art genius, he’s determined it’s going to be his best year yet.

But Jimi’s rogue brother, Wole, is back – which means trouble can’t be far behind.

Then there’s Efua, the beautiful and mysterious new girl in class who seems to have no time for boys – including Jimi. But when Jimi’s mother falls ill, he realizes that things are about to change - and not
necessarily in a good way.

A funny and honest book about self-discovery, family, friendship, tolerance and the highs and lows of life as a modern Nigerian teenager. Told in straightforward
language, A.H. Mohammed never talks down to readers.

Instead, Last Days stands out with its realistic situations, original characters and deft storytelling. It is at once entertaining and deadly serious, tackling a range of difficult issues including drug
abuse, discrimination and loss, with intelligence and great writing.

How to Write and Pass 2016 JAMB CBT UTME Examination (An Indispensable Guide)

THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2016 examination is fast approaching and many candidates are super agitated and going on anxiety trips over the examination what has been designed to be fully Computer based. This is especially the case with candidates who are attempting the JAMB CBT Examination for the first. Many fear that they have never used a computer before in their lives, talkmore of being computer literates.

The good news is that JAMB knows your fears. They anticipated them and designed their CBT software to take adequate care of the possible challenges candidates may face stemming from little or no experience in the use of computers.

Below is a veritable guide from someone who has a first hand experience. The tips will surely help you to pass the examination in flying colours.

How To Write and Pass 2016 JAMB UTME CBT Examination
As pointed out above, you don't need to be a computer expert before you can write a Computer Based Test. In the case of JAMB, the computer you will use will be ON, meaning that you’re not required to switch it ON.

The JAMB software will be open in all the computers for the halls for the examination, so you don’t also need to start searching the computer programs or archives for the software.

Note today that the only thing you will be required to type or key into the computer is Your JAMB Registration Number. Every other thing will have to do with just clicking the mouse.

A computer mouse has two two buttons: the left button and the right button. The left button is the one you will use mostly for the exam, because it’s like the MARK button. Once you are assigned a computer, check and ensure that the mouse is working before you input your JAMB Reg No.

Just move it and know whether the mouse pointer is responding. This is very important because if the mouse is not working, you won’t be able to answer a single question.

THE EXAM:
The login page is a white and green page where you will input your JAMB registration number and click at submit.

ALL the computers are timed as follows:
THREE (3) hours,
Forty five (45) minutes,
Thirteen (13) seconds.

The first page you will see is where the instruction is. Just proceed and read the instructions carefully before clicking on “Start”. Once you click "Start", the timer will commence and run till the time allotted for the exam elapses. The subjects which you chose during your JAMB online registration will appear. It is now left for you to click on any of the subjects you want to start with.

Please note that there are 3 buttons which are the following: Previous, Next, Finish.

There’s also an option that allows you to skip a question and come back to it later. If you skip a question, a red indication will be blinking on the number you have not answered. This notification is designed to remind you and to ensure that you don't leave any questions unanswered.

The comprehension passage will appear fully on each question from the passage. So there is no need writing down or cramming the comprehension passage. When you are through with answering all the questions or when you see the timer is approaching, say, 10 seconds, quickly click on SUBMIT and then logout or better still, call the attention of the supervision on instructions to conclude the exam. This is very important.

Please note that there is no law that says you must answer the number 1 question before the number 2 or that you must answer Chemistry before physics. The exam is designed in such a way that you are allowed to choose which subject or questions to start with. Ensure that you answer the "simpler ones" that you are sure of first before attempting others.

In all, trust in God and do remember to to say your prayers BEFORE you input your JAMB Reg No to start the examination..

Wishing you the very BEST and success in the forthcoming JAMB CBT 2016 exam.
