Trouble for Candidates as JAMB Site Crashes over exam slip Re-print for 2016

This thread has been created particularly for those who are, for one reason or the other, unable to check or reprint their JAMB 2016 Exam Slip at the moment.

We had to create this thread now because we got reports of candidates, who are saying they have exams on 27th Feb (two days before the announced date for exam to begin).

Please note that knowing the details of your exam date, time and venue, does not prevent you from having a printed or hard copy of the actual exam slip before the exam day. This means you must eventually print your exam slip before going for your exam. 

You are advised to use an actual computer system but If you must use a mobile phone, avoid using Opera Mini to open JAMB Site. It does not work well.

It's so unfortunate that we have been pushed to making this publication, following frustration and inability to help students re-print their JAMB exam slip for UTME exams, slated to begin on 27th Feb, 2016.

Our question now is, if this slow and, at times, total crash of JAMB site persists at this time, how possible will it be for all candidates to re-print their exam slips before 27th Feb.

The sad fact remains that this sort of issues are experienced every year, yet, the board does nothing to help the situation. Every Year!

We are therefore calling on the appropriate authorities to look into this issue and fix the portal to enable students get the relevant information needed before the exam. After all, it's the same JAMB that informed all students to re-print their slips as from 18th Feb, so they should have been expecting such outcome.

Meanwhile, students should always try to help their fellow students. If you have the opportunity to help others check their exam date, please don't hesitate to do so. ABE UK Gets Approval From NUC To Run Programmes In Nigeria

The National University Commission, NUC, has endorsed the ABE UK to run its programmes in Nigeria, as Market Space gets formal accreditation by the institution to provide tuition for ABE UK Marketing Management Levels 5 and 6.

Speaking at a press conference, the Regional Manager, West Africa ABE United Kingdom Education Institute, Mr. Anthony Atagamen, said:‘’I am happy to tell you that two weeks ago, the delegations of the  NUC was at ABE headquarters in London where we signed a Memorandum of Understanding to recognise ABE.”

He explained that what ABE is hoping and aiming to do is that before the end of 2016, it will be able to get a  sense of recognition from the NUC, so that students who finish the level 5 and level 6 can go on to do their NYSC.

“If the Federal Ministry of Education is saying, yes that the ABE level 4 is equivalent to an Ordinary National Diploma, OND, definitely, level 5 and level 6 of ABE are equivalent to Higher National Diploma,HND, after which you can do your NYSC,’’ he said.

Atagamen who disclosed that ABE  is also  in talk with the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, noted that the management of the institution met with TUC’s President and Vice towards the last quarters of last 2015 to get their support. ‘’We are at the verge of tighten up the relationship with the TUC,’’ he said.

He, however, pointed out that ABE is not just about academics, but also professional adding, ‘’You  can either decide to get a degree with your ABE qualification or go to the market and work. That is why the TUC is also coming on-board.’’

Explaining further, the Head of Centre, Market Space Limited, Mrs Edith Keshi-Robinson said that apart from offering the Marketing Management Levels 5 and 6 which are equivalent to Nigerian HND and BS.c, the institution also offers Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management Level 5 Diploma programs at Market Space Lagos Training Centre.

Yobe State University Gets New Vice Chancellor

 Prof. Yakubu Muhktar, who has just been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of Yobe State University, assumed duty in Damaturu on Wednesday. He had warned the staff against financial and academic corruption.

Muhktar, who gave the warning while taking over from the former Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Musa Alabe, said his leadership would ensure accountability and probity in the financial and academic sectors of the institution.

Muhktar solicited the support of staff and students, adding that he would give special attention to academic excellence to uplift the university to a greater height.

Muhktar, former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of the university, urged the staff to promote good conduct to serve as role model for the students.

Sultan Announces Plan For The Establishment Of all-Women Medical University in Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Tuesday announced plans by the Sultanate Council to establish an all-Women Medical University in Sokoto. It was reported that the Sultan made the disclosure in Sokoto at the launch of Northern Education Initiative Plus Project, sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development ( USAID).

According to him, the technical committee set up to provide the framework and action plan for the establishment of the university had since completed its assignment.

“We are now on the second phase of the establishment of the institution which entails the collation of experts opinions.

“It is after all these are concluded that we will approach the National Universities Commission for its approval and the eventual granting of licence,” Abubakar said.

The monarch said that the council would involve both local and international partners, including Bill Gates Foundation, in the evolution of the university.

The Sultan explained that the move would boost girl child education and bridge current inadequacy in the number of females in the medical profession.

He commended the state government for its recent declaration of state of emergency in the education sector and its plan to enrol 1.2 million children into schools in the next nine months.

The Sultan promised to partner with the state government and legislature to enact a law that would punish parents that refused to send their children to school..

“The sultanate council will make sure that all the 85 districts in the state work tirelessly to ensure that any parent who refuses to enrol his child in school is duly punished..”

Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, represented by his deputy, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, commended USIAD for its commitment to the education sector in Nigeria.

Tambuwal said that the state would spend 27 per cent of its 2016 budget on education to ensure successful implementation of the state of emergency declared on the sector.

The USAID Nigeria Mission Director, Mr Michael Harvey reiterated the commitment of the United States government towards improving the education sector in the state and the country in general.

He said that the U.S government would continue to push for universal access to quality education by both sexes.

Why Students Failed 2015 JAMB CBT

If you will be sitting for JAMB UTME 2016, Kindly read this.

It is not an unknown fact that some Nigerian students after their JAMB examination will end up scoring zero over 400 ( 0.00/400.00). Last two years when I wrote my first Jamb examination, I had this feeling that I am going to smash the exam with a high grade like at least 350 over 400 but finally I found myself scoring 179 over 400, poor me right I guess.

But I thank Baba God for even making me see my score. Some of my colleagues didn,t even see any thing called grade talk more of scoring 0 over 400, I will share some tips and reason why I failed my examination and also from survey why many students also failed ,
Here are the 10 Reasons why Nigerian students fail JAMB:

1: Fear
According to H.P. Lovecraft, Supernatural Horror in Literature , He said that “The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown” , Seriously speaking, I was afraid then , the fear of Jamb made me to think if I was going into Do or Die Affair.

I could also remember vividly that very day of the examination it took me about 10 minutes before I could even start shading some answer all because I was afraid to even start somewhere. Fear contributed to my failure .

So my fellow students, Be bold , courageous and never you think of failure in your jamb examination. Jamb is just like a normal examination but very tricky….

2: Jamb Syllabus
It might sound funny but I bet you, Jamb follow some syllabus topics in setting up their examination questions, Then I was busy going to extra moral class , thinking i will grab everything within 3 months. but i was disappointed when I got into the examination hall . So I advice all students that will be sitting for Jamb 2016 to at least get tips about all the topics jamb listed in their syllabus.

3: Power of Jamb Past-Question
My dear never neglect the power of past question papers. They reveal some tips and sample questions on what you will be facing in your examination. After the examination that day, some of my friends that finished about 4 years jamb past questions papers told me that about 20 questions each came out from jamb past questions. I was shocked but No second chance for an amendment. So start now to practice some jamb past question.

4: Miracle Centre
Believe it or Not, This is an OPEN Confession, the fear of failing made me to get some A,B,C,D,E from a lady sitting beside me that very day. She registered in Miracle Center(RUNS THINGS). I am very sure my score would have been more better that it was if I had focus without getting some data from that girl. After the examination , she showed me the Answer her boyfriend sent to her but to my greatest surprised the my English language paper TYPE was A but the one her boyfriend sent her was TYPE C. unfortunately to me I carried my USE of English Over… So. BE CAREFUL…..

5: Invigilators
Nowadays, invigilators can frustrate students to the extend of asking them to pay or there will be NO communication inside the examination hall. For instance i could remember that day, one invigilator asked us to pay #2,500 each to allow us share and communicate with each other BUT if you fail to pay automatically you will become NO 1 Suspect in the hall. They will try anything humanly possible to make you fail unless you know your Creator.

6: Coming Late
Yes, I will advice you all that will sitting for the 2016 Jamb to be in your Centre 1 hour before the examination start. Try as much as you can to be first student to be in your centre. Coming late to any examination will make you feel that you have lost it all. you will automatically dis-organize yourself .

7: Breakfast
Yes , we know that a hungry man is an Angry man. Do not use because you are going to write Jamb examination you will starve yourself . Before leaving in the morning please take something atleast one cup of coffee or tea with bread will be nice to hold you. Sometimes , your exam will even start later than planned.

8: Long Distance
The possibility of a student living in Enugu to meet up with an examination that will start around 9.00am in Ebonyi state is just 40/100 because anything can happen. Some student will tell you i will meet up but along the line , they will be hooked up on the way. The question is:
What if the Car breaks down on the way( Which we don,t pray for)

What if you don,t locate your centre before the exam starts?
The only possible solution for this is just to be in the state/local/town/village where your centre is located a day before the examination date.It will help you a lot because if you fail to meet it automatically it will collaborate the reason NO 6:

9: Jamb Paper type:
Many students choose to change their Jamb paper during the examination. Let say your Jamb use of English paper type is TYPE A. Some student will quickly get EXPO from their colleagues without checking the expo Type. Be careful.
